Got one of the peco kits off Hbc with wort chiller etc last week. Before I do a brew I'm looking at fitting a diy hop filter, the kind made from a tap connector flexible hose. Im just wondering as a few have commented on the poor flow of the tap supplied if anyone has fitted a ball valve instead without having a problem?

I was going to have a go at removing the rubber hose from the inside and just use the braiding. Vets just one I have lying about.

OK. This is the set up that I've made up and hopefully fitting. Made up of a 15mm ball valve, short piece of copper pipe, brass tank connector and sleave from a flexible tap hose. Any advice welcome, or other pointers.

I put a stainless steel ball valve on my peco. The tap it came with annoyed me because it was either full on or off. The tap hole in the bucket was a hairs breadth too small for the tap to had to make it bigger.
I just use a bayonet style hop filter on the tap. Works fine..
