i bought one of these, and to be honest i wasnt impressed with the build quality, and like you i wanted to top up in the fv so i bought this http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/specialist ... 897e5ca35a good build and holds the heat well, ive also used it for a mini BIAB it says 18l but i think its 15l to where the handles are.....but it works and thats what matters.....hope that helps

I've got a 19l version of that Buckingham pot and it works great. Cheap too

I have used it for biab maxi style with no bother

id checked wilko etc and couldnt find a suitable pot, then you post that

brilliant! Ill order one to be delivered to store at that price :drunk:

any tips on receipes for a extract brew?

Also, am i being stupid but im guessing extract and BIAB is the same thing?

Extract is using malt extract, BIAB is using crushed malt and mashing to get the extract, so you get more control over the resultant wort.

I gather there is mini mash, which is a combination of steeping malt and then adding to extract...?

To be honest, BIAB AG is so simple that I would just go for it.

1 - get her to taste the difference,
2 - pot and bag aside, it is cheaper per brew than kit
3 - it is soooooooo much nicer and she gets a free hop/malt sauna into the bargain!

She wont taste it as 'all beer tastes the same' she prefers lager

She asked the other day would it smell, nooooo dear, not if you go to your mums

Everyone likes the smell of mashing...

...just make sure she goes shopping when you add your first hops!
