All finished and put to bed

I decided the second hop addition would be for 20 mins instead of 10 therefore the IBU's are up to 35
Lovely colour & 24ltrs @ 1046OG

Some photos coming shortly.

UP why only boil for 60min, is it do with using Magnum Pellets?

Looking forward to the pics :thumb:

Thanks,
I've been watching too many American brewday videos. They always seem to use pellets and boil for 60min, just thought there was a connection

Photo's a bit late too tired last night.

Protofloc went in just after syrup and at 60mins switched off the heat and put cooling on until hit 84Deg, I find by I need to stop at 84 to get 80deg for the steep.
In go steep hops

Looking good Shane. Good photo's - I particularly like the dedicated housing for your PIDs (if indeed that is what it is). :thumb:

That's a great colour, sounds like a tasty brew.

Have to say the mash tun looks a bit plain minus the "excess" expanding foam though

Are you reffering to the Homemade control box or the "In the night garden" stand its on, :D

UP

That would be the former.

However the stand is kind of natty (I won't let my daughter see it).

The stands my little un's it was just handy at the time, The PID control box is not quite finished yet, It needs some sides putting on it and the lid screwing on, but works well and was much cheaper than buying one, I made it from some 6mm ply I had left over from a job, some bits of wood cut off a futon that was going out for the bin and some bits from a Kitchen carcass I ripped out a couple of years ago, So Green as you can get Recycling :thumb:

I want to get a stand built for the big brewery quick and have no access to a welder therefore am looking at going down the UNISTRUT route at the mo then the PID box will have a permanent Home.

Well I have just had another sample of this, when i first tried it a few weeks ago I thought it was well wrong, have a funny taste A bit like Wherry, I thought it was slug food!

Just had a half & will be having a pint in a bit, its a cracking recipe its really sorted itself out, clear as a bell a bit darker than a lager but not much loads of head and a nice balanced bitterness, I think I will bottle some as I think it will make a really nice bottled beer for summer drinking.

The magnum give a really nice bitterness and the first gold a great flavour.
