Hi
Joined the forum over last weekend and have read a lot on here since. Not having brewed anything for quite a while I have a few questions.

My new kit Coopers Australian lager, came with a pack of Brew Enhancer 2.

As I like a strong flavoured lager at about 5% ABV I was going to tweak my ingredients a bit.

Firstly I was thinking of adding 500g light spray malt, hopefully to increase the flavour, will this also increase the ABV or would brewing sugar do this. From memory sugar increases alcohol but not flavour.
Secondly I was thinking of adding some Hallertau hops 25-30g.

I think the kit comes with an ale yeast and I am concerned as the room I am using is a bit on the cold side 16-18c at present. Would I be better off getting a lager yeast that is better suited to the lower temp,if so what yeast is suitable?

I hope I am not talking rubbish but I have read so much on here in a short space of time that I may be totally confused!!

Also would I be wise to cut down to 20 litres rather than 23 as suggested.

thanks
