hey all

Going to be experimenting with some coopers stout soon need a little advice.

23ltr kit made with 1kg dark spray malt

Then I would like to added Vanilla Extract
Cocoa powder
Lactose
Cherry syrup (Lowiz stuff)

But I am not entirely sure how much and when to add to hopefully make a milk choc, cherry stout

Cherry after a few tests I have come up with 1 part cherry to 20 parts stout.

Cheers :)

Lactose can go in any time, doesn't matter. Not sure how stouts work to be honest, but if you want an obvious flavour of the things you are adding, put them in secondary and don't let them ferment.

Funny i came across this post as i have the same dilemma .
I will be brewing a coopers irish stout but will add brown sugar instead of dextrose and want to add black treacle but don't want to add too much as treacle is very strong taste.

I was thinking of 1kg kit
400g brown sugar
??? treacle....possible 250g

friday is the big brew day
