Coopers Stout question

Right, was gonna start a stout tonight. I asked the wife to get me 1kg of dark malt extract, but she only got me a 500grm bag. So should i wait till Saturday to get another bag
r could i make it up with a tin of black treacle, golden syrup brown sugar etc. I want a good stout. Will 500grms be enough? Recommendations anyone?

I did mine with exactly that - 500g DME, a tin of treacle and a jar of golden syrup and it came out at just over 5% and tasted bloody lovely. :

Great stuff! Will start that tonight. Just one more question. Did you dissolve your fermentables in hot water first, or just throw it all into the FV & stir like mad?
