Fermenter scale marks

I've just been checking the scale marks on a new screw-top fermenter. I've chucked in 8.5 litres of water and hit the 10l mark printed on the side :shock:

I'd always known that these things are 'approximate', but this is WAY off the mark!!

I've got a 5 gallon youngs fv, when i calibrated mine it was about a litre out :shock:

Easily sorted with a permanent marker for 99p :thumb:
