I'd read that as 1.006 which means its done. Strictly speaking you should take another reading in 2-3 days to check it hasn't gone any lower (if it doesn't move over 2-3 days you know its finished fermenting as it hasn't moved).

Worth leaving another few days or a week before bottling/kegging even if it is done fermenting. The yeast cleans up after itself once finished fermenting and the beer will clear a bit more if left a little longer so you get a clearer beer, faster in the bottle/keg.

Good, low final gravity that, well done !

thank you i will try it again in 2 days. do you think i should add the hops now or wait until i test it again? think i should have started it earlier ready for rugby world cup

The hops want to be in for 4 days towards the end or at the end of fermentation so yes, pop the hops in and then bottle/keg on Monday/Tuesday would be ideal.

If you leave the hops in much longer than 4-5 days your risk getting grassy flavours developing.

Good luck with it.
