Can anyone please recommend a good first time lager kit please, and anything that is not recommended if applicable :D

I have all the kit (i think), fermentation bucket, hydrometer, thermometer, bubbler, large spoon, understanding wife etc etc

Buy the best beer kit you afford. The all malt kits ( 3 kg ) are the best. If you use a 1.5kg kit put malt in rather than Sugar.
Three tips

1) Use Malt instead of Sugar
2) 2 lite pop bottles are great and 'free ' ways of storing beer.
3) try to avoid drinking the breer until around 6 weeks after it is bottled the difference in quality is massive.
