Hi guys does anybody know where I can get a cheap reconditioned hand pull pump that I can use for beer in a box ie polypin connectors ect

I picked mine up at a car boot, didn't take much to get it working well. They are pretty simple.

Can usually find them on ebay for around £45 plus delivery, sometimes cheapest esp for collection only.

You can get non workers for around £20 to £50 on the likes of Ebay or Gumtree.
These can be stripped down (if newer and spares are available) and made good if competent for around another £25 to £50 depending on spares and seal kits required.
You can pick a "working" pump up again from ebay etc for maybe £80 upwards or may still be able to buy one from a refurbisher online for around £150 upwards which will be guaranteed.

Ok thank you I’ve seen a few I do work on my tools for a living but I’ve never stripped one down wasn’t sure about the space and where to get them

Ok thankyou

Yes thanks for that I have been looking on eBay most of the ones I’ve seen in about £130 there are a couple of cheap ones they are for about £40 I think they probably need a bit too much work and then you’ve got the added aggro of trying to find a spares for them

There isn't a lot to go wrong with them other than the piston, washers, o rings and pipe connectors. I stripped mine down with very basic tools and found the washer on the piston was deformed - flipping it over fixed it for me. Your mileage may vary though!

Ok thanks for that cheers

Worth checking Facebook Marketplace too if you can. I bought two working Angram CQ, £50 for two. I think I got a bit of a bargain. It was from a hotel who were going keg-only as they didn't sell enough cask. I took out £200 in cash to go pick them up. When he said "£50?" I thought, "bargain", so I took out £100 from my wallet as I was going to buy two of the 4 he had, and he said "no, £50 for the two". I think I got lucky.

Okay thanks for that I did see them on the InternetQuite a few were out of stock ones they did have 150 quid hoping it would be a bit cheaper than that But thanks anyway I will keep looking

You definitely did my friend I don’t suppose you want to sell one do you 😂

Ideally I would prefer a hand pull pump rather than CO sorry I have only just started looking this last week or so So I am not giving up hope yet I don’t mind doing a little bit of work on time but ideally if I can get one in good working order all the better really

What is CO? Mine is what I would call a handpump, with a 1/4 pint cylinder. I must admit, I am on a learning curve with beer engines.
Here is a pic of one of them (both identical). They are currently at my parents (I was visiting them when I bought them).

Not really sure same is you still on the learning curve I thought you might of meant CO2 as it needed gas maybe it’s just the model where are you based anyway ?

I am in Reading.
When I went to pick these up, he had two more, but I think they were "fake" beer engines as they had no cylinder and I believe hooked up to a keg instead of cask. Essentially, it's to make it look like "pulling a pint" whereas it is actually just pushed through with CO2.

I saw on FB just now one going for £15 in Dorking. Apparently it works: Log into Facebook

Are you planning on using both of yours because if not I’m willing to make an offer on one of yours I’m not trying to be pushy just thought I would ask
