how to use grains?

hy all again im new to homebrew and thick lol ,
someone told me to use a coopers stout kit and add wheat grains and chocolate grain ,wheat to thicken and make creamy and choc for a choccy taste i thought it sounds luvly but how do i use these grains do i put them in something as far as i no you boil them but do i put them in bag or something oh and is all this true regards ste
 
Yes you can add grains to the kit brews, NO DO NOT BOIL THEM :nono: They need Steeping at a mash Temp somewhere between 64-67c, steeping is soaking basically, For around 30 min. You'll need 3 times the amount of water to grains so if you have 400grm of grain add in 1.2ltr of water and so on. Yes these grains could be in a bag, or the wort run off and grains captured in a fine seive.

As for quantity of grains I wouldn't know.
