Hi all. Has anybody successfully setup SG Reading in Ubidots for Ispindel.

I have setup a new variable with the formula:
round((1+gravity/(258.6-227.1*gravity/258.2))*1000,0) as instructed on various forums but it doesn't work, just stays blank.

    Any info much appreciated
    Paul

I put the formula into the setup page where you put your WiFi details, and it sends the gravity directly to ubidots as a variable.

I initially setup a formula in ubidots just to validate the gravity from the ispindel, but once I’d convinced myself they were giving the same value I just went with the direct one.

My formula didn’t include round though, and it was a cubic of the variable “tilt”.

Sometimes, despite brewing for about 5 years now, and almost daily viewing of the forum, I still see posts (like the OP) which I have absolutely no idea what it means :laugh8:

The OP posted exactly the same question on Jims forum and Spook replied -

    Hi Paul

Have you typed the words "gravity" into the formula directly? If so then it won't work. You need to click the "Add data source" button when creating the variable, select your device and then select the variable.

BTW, I notice that your formula is exactly the same as mine so I'm guessing you have copied it directly from one of my posts. You will need to calibrate your iSpindel and generate a formula for your specific device otherwise your readings will be incorrect.

A few of us on here, especially Dutto, will remember Stanley Unwin, he spoke in a similar language.:laugh8:
