Just finished bottling my first brew and there is a load of sludge at the bottom of the FV - a very light colour...is this normal or am I missing something?

At a guess I'd say it's the residue from malt etc from the tin kit?

Thanks in advance.

Don't panic if you didn't have that I'd worry, it's a combination of dead yeast cells and a few bits of unwanted rubbish. Roughly as yeast reproduces it gives off CO2 and Alcohol in equal measure then dies off, that sediment are those poor dead cells that had to die for you to have your ale. I love catching evangelical veggies with that one.

Relax it's fine

Pulling on the heart strings there andy!

Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated.

Contemplating sticking the European lager on whilst it is still cool outside!

Had to be done.. using milk as an adhesive baffled me! But does the trick nicely.

And there was I thinking I was being cool putting some sticky hand written labels on half a dozen pet bottles to put away in the shed for six months
