Hello,

ich have a question concerning right maturation temperature (so after bottle conditiong is finished) of ales and porter/stous.

Normaly we say in germany its arround 5 celsius for all styles. But then i read that many english ales are like 10 celsius and even more.
So how is it in england for normal at those styles?

Yes, 10-12C seems to be the ideal temperature.

I store mine in the garage and they seem to be at their best when in that temp range, us Brits don't like our beer too cold. I only cool lagers, IPAs and Stouts.

Thank you guys. i wasnt talking about serving. It is not a problem to take out the ale and warm it a bit :) But maturing which normaly takes some weeks was the point. But 10 degrece is a good tip :)

Cooler temperatures may be more ideal, but I store all my beer in my kitchen, where the temp is unlikely to dip much below 19 deg or so, and I don't generally encounter any problems, the beer usually clears readily enough, and can be chilled if needed.
