Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tom and I have been a beer lover for many years. My preference has always been Belgian and Dutch Micro brews (in their many different variants) largely due to their high strength and flavour (and less volume). It all started off years ago when me and my wife bought a bottle of Chouffe. I found it to be a revelation and such a more civilized change to the gassy swilling lagers on offer in most places. We eventually went to Amsterdam for a short holiday, discovered it's amazing speacialist drinking establishments and ended up visiting the place up to twice a year for almost a decade. Well now we have 2 young kids so it's not as easy for us to visit there at the moment. I miss the place and some of my favourite haunts there were drinking establishments such as:

InDeWildeman
'tArendsNest
'tIJ Brewpub
Beer Temple
Cafe Belgique
Proeflokaal De Drie Fleschjes (Dutch Gin only but still a unique place to visit)

..and many more.

So now I have moved house and have a little space to brew my own Belgian Ale (Brewferm). I'm thinking of going with the Chistmas Ale or the Ambiorix to start off with. Is there anyone on here with experience of these brews?

Thanks in advance - and CHEERS! :drink: ,
Tom.

Welcome Tom

I haven't made up a kit in a while, and I haven't used either of those kits but so I can't give you any personal experience. I think that the Brewferm kits are generally well thought of. You could try looking in the Beer Kit Reviews sub forum.

The search function works OK on this forum so you could give that a go. If there is a review or a brewday out there it should find it.

Also check out the How To for premium kits. You might need to adjust slightly with the Brewferm instructions but it should be useful if you haven't done this before.
