Next Brew Ideas

Considering the next brew...

Currently between a couple of possibilities...
A Mild
Grain
Maris Otter 3.5kg
Dark Crystal 400g
Black Malt 125g

Hops
Magnum 10g 60 mins
Golding 10g 60 mins
(Not sure on the hop profile so feedback appreciated)

Will be yeasted with yeast harvested from bottled beer (maybe Nutty Dark again)

OR

A Bitter
Grain
Maris Otter 4kg
Dark Crystal 1kg

Hops
Magnum 20g 60mins
Golding 15g 20mins
Fuggles 15g 10mins

Again yeasted with reclaimed yeast (maybe Butty Bach)

Any feedback or decision making help appreciated (I'd like to make a beer my Dad likes but then his fave drinks are Worthingto, Tetley or John Smiths smoothflow so could be tough to get something so tasteless!)

whatever you do, if you buy 100g packs, i can only suggest more goldings. they just taste so flippin good.

Got 250g pack of goldings... Keep thinking to hop with them exclusively but it seems dart to use a ton of them for bitterness when I can use way less of an alpha variety .
