Thinking of doing a Muntons Canadian Ale. Any opinions on this kit would be appreciated.
Joe in NB, Canada.

Hi Joe...I did Muntons like 15 years back, it was ok, drinkable but not great. You could play around with the kit, steep a small amount of grains is a bag , a bit of dry hopping stuff like that.

Thanks for the reply, DJ. Seems like Muntons not at all popular on this forum.

I would guess that things have improved in 15 years. Also, be aware that Muntosn make the majority of kits, even if they aren't labled Muntons.

I did Muntons 'Imperial' Stout last year and it was awesome.

I've just purchased a can of Brewmaker Irish Velvet Dark Stout which I believe is made by Muntons , wasn't what I intended to go for but owner of LHBS said he'd had some very good feedback from customers who had bought it.
I intend to brew it with a 1.5kg tin of Cooper's DME instead of sugar.

WOW! This thread sure got buried fast .... and deep! Anyway, thanks for the replys. Think I will see if my local shop stocks a Muntons Nut Brown and Canadian Ale.
