Ph tester

Looking for recommendations for a PH tester that want break the bank.

Gona be about £100.

The cheap ones just break and drift and are generally more trouble than they're worth.

Whatever you buy MAKE SURE it has a replaceable probe, probes go first.

or just use BrewersFriend advanced water calculator if you have tested of alkalinity it's usually good enough.

I've got this cheap one from China. Cheap and effective. Others will not agree that it is effective. They are wrong. And IF it breaks... just buy a new one. Ten times cheaper than a "good" one, but just as effective in my experience. I've been using the same one for like 5 years, it still works fine. Needs to be calibrated with every use, but so what. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.

I’ve got a keg land one and it’s rubbish.

I've got a Chinese bog standard cheapy one; £10 iirc. Needed calibrating at purchase, but after always seems to read the same as my ph strips.


Only had it six months or so, so cannot comment on its longevity.
