Hey there

Anyone had any success with a quad before? if so, what was your recipe?

thanks in advance

matthew

My plan is like 100 gms Special B, 300 gms biscuit, 500-600 gms muscovado, top up with pilsner to 24 Plato (~1.100 SG). Mash dry. Challenger, Goldings or Hallertau to 24 IBU, pinch of Goldings for aroma, but not much, maybe 15 gms.

Crucial factor is very large amount of healthy yeast.

Not in a quad, but brewed dubbels with no.2 invert, home made candi syrup and plain white sugar + tsp of treacle. Both candi and invert was very good, muscovado bit more winey and required longer conditioning. Plain sugar with treacle was a complete mistake. ;)

great- good to know! thx

have only ever done dubbles with home made candi stuff

thx for the help

i forgot i had a bottle of 3 philosophers in fridge

anyone know anything about the yeast in there? worth harvesting?
