Hi all. Just getting into the partial-mash thing and want to brew a nice, simple, traditional session bitter for consumption by one and all over the Xmas period. With a few things I have in stock and some readily available bits form my local home-brew shop, here's what I am thinking for 19 litres:

2kg light spraymalt
200g crystal malt
50 g Chocolate malt
25g each of Fuggles and Goldings at 60 mins
Few g of each post-boil.
Nottingham yeast

Any thoughts and improvements welcomed.

Many thanks!

Hi,
I am also just starting to get into extract/partial mash.
My first brew used similar quantities to yours except I used liquid malt extract/spray malt mixture and dark rather than choc malt.
But the weights were the same!
Mine is nearly done now and seems quite strongly flavoured!
I think your recipe looks okay, hopefully someone more knowledgable will help out :)
