anyone know if i can i use aluminium pots for boiling or do they give the wort a bad taste??

I have always brewed with aluminium (so far) and it does not give any off flavours. :thumb:

You just have to be careful what you clean them with.

+1 with Bolty :thumb:

Aluminium's fine for boilers, just clean with soapy water and a scourer, no bleach or anything caustic.

Don't leave anything acidic in the aluminium pot, as it will leech some of the metals, you will detect that metallic taste like the 'Long Life' beer of many years ago.
If you do use soap, make sure you rinse it very well, then once more.

I'm off to buy an aliminium pot, sounds like the problems are with the cleaning and looking after, not the actual boiling .

cheers lads !!
