Too much finnings ?

I added some finnings to a WOW I'm making in a 1 gal DJ

I added finnings but then realised the finnings were for 23ltrs

Will this have an adverse effect?

I kind of did the same thing. Monday morning added about 3/4 of the fnings for 23ltr into a 1 gallon demijohn. Figured it'd be fine

Had a check this morning (been in the cool garage) - wow. Very clear!! Still some stuff to settle off but seems to have done no problem. I guess it's safe

Yes, mine is clear, like a real good dark rosé, but there's still bits floating in it.

Smells better as well

no it should not give a bad flavor, i have had kits that would not clear and i have added finings 3 and 4 times

I have read too much finings can lead to off flavours, I guess we will have to wait until you've tasted it to find out.
