Well ,i had my first AG brewday last weekend and all in all i am really pleased ,
I brewed a ESB from the Greg Hughes book ,the target OG was 1056 and i was very pleased and nicely surprised to have achieved 1052 ,i was going to do a full volume mash to make the day a bit easier ,but in the end i did a 12L sparge .
After the boil i was short on my target volume by about 1.5L but i put that down to maybe boiling the wort for last 20 minutes on full power rather than half power.
Forgot to say that i am using a Klarstein Maishfest which seems a great piece of kit and i am really pleased with .
So i would say to anybody reading this and are thinking of going AG ,go for it ,as long as you have done plenty of homework on the subject you will be fine :)
