Stove top 2 gallon
Brewed 24/1/24
SG 1038 down to 1014 : 3.7%
Bottled 1/2/24

Pale malt 1.84 Kg
Black malt 11 GM
FUGGLES 11 GM + 11 GM final 15 mins of boil
Yeast SafAleS-04

Used too much Protafloc so had lots of cotton wool floating about at point of transforming into plastic fermentation vessel. Lesson learned.

Only managed to bottle 11 glass flip tops.
First bottle tried 6/4/24; ok
27/4/24 great improvement
14/5/24 excellent
Today still excellent. Must brew again.

Thoughts folks. Always appreciate hints n tips.
It's a lot clearer than the picture shows..

I like fuggles. Definitely works in a bitter (I like it in a saison too).

My thoughts - I see you've used a small amount of black malt, presumably for the colour, I think I would have used a larger quantity of crystal instead which would have given you more caramel, biscuity flavours. But that might not be what you were aiming for.

First attempt at an American / Mexican Lager for the summer and I'm pretty happy with that.
The grain bill was just Muntons lager and Torrified Maize.
Used my harvested yeast. A mix of 34/70 and WHC einstein with an extra light DME starter.
Fermented under 15psi from the word go at 12 oc . Slightly over carbed but I can deal with that.
Now where is the sun.

While picking up my cherry lattice slice in Waitrose I spotted this beauty on offer for £2.30 so bought a couple (I might go back and clear the shelf tomorrow).

For a 500ml bottle of 8.5% strong flavoursome ale this is a bargain. It’s not unlike their vintage ale.

So, got me down to Waitrose today (as it's next to Son's house).
Put 6 Golden Prides in a box and bought some Pinot Noir as down on that too.
Looking forward to trying them all. 🍻🍷

Many thanks. Good advice. Much appreciated.
I have a couple of stove top maturing that have only crystal or a crystal / black combination so looking forward to trying them in the next few weeks.
Cheers
