Long story short, I've got a mate due to return from a year travelling. To mark his return I'm brewing up a keg for a welcome home party.

I have a few ideas for a bitter recipe but haven't had the chance to brew them up before so before i start experimenting I'd like to know if you have any tried and tested recipes you'd be willing to share?

I was thinking along the lines of 95% marris otter, 5% crystal, challenger to start, finished with EKG. For yeast I'll use Wyeast 1968 London ESB.

Cheers

That sounds like a great recipe mate, not a millions miles from Old Speckled Hen.
Get your IBU's to around the 35 mark and that'll be a lovely drop.
