Busy times from home brew shops

Anyone needing AG supplies, try phoning your local microbrewery. I broke curfew yesterday (for essential food supplies obviously wink...) and picked up a sack of malt and filled a few little bags with a selection of the hops they had open. He said that they won't be brewing again for at least a month. As a bonus he also threw in the end of a bag of citra pellets, there must be about a kilo in there. Good excuse to try some of James Morton's mega-hopped recipes.

These are unprecendented times and to state two pieces of obvious. First it is better to batch buy big until the pubs are permitted to open again. Second, expect charity stores and ebay to be littered with waste kits after this blows over. Sounds like I am a vulture but this will be the case and some bargains are likely to be had in the future ;)

Cant see whats wrong with that. Forumites will actually use them and get a good bargain athumb..

If its any help to people I put in a large order to THBC on Wed 18th (last week), got the 'order despatched' email on the 19th, and it was delivered by DPD on Mon 23rd. Which is not much different from normal, although things might have got slower in the meantime.

Put an order in with HBC on Sunday, email from DPD saying it’ll be delivered tomorrow, so maybe an extra day for delivery. Nothing too bad

I put an order in with thehomebrewcompany on Monday, not heard anything and the order hasn't moved from 'processing' in my account, hoping that they are just busy. I will post on here if anything changes.

Same here waiting on the hbc im only 1 hr 30 min drive from there warehouse and still waiting on dispatch email since Monday beer is the new toilet roll

That's a long time. I'd give Shane a call if nothing changes today,

Anyone who has stuff coming from THBC should note this taken from a CV19 bulletin at the bottom of their Home page
"Due to unprecedented volumes, orders can now take up to 5 days to ship. We are working around the clock on this. Your patience is greatly appreciated. To that end we are no longer able to answer the phone lines. Please email in your queries. These will be answered outside business hours as we have everyone packing your orders."

The two local farms/maltsters I use have shut their gates and the one that also does bread flour is in meltdown. The other one has got a sack on next day delivery no probs. So if anyone is looking for pale malt Alison at Products — Crafty Maltsters will supply 25kg for £32.52 delivered by Parcelforce.

I placed a order with balliihoo on the 23rd as I've just received notice that I'll receive it tomorrow the 26th, so that's not too much of a delay if any, as I opted for standard delivery.
At the time of placing the order I checked out all the usual suspects and they were the only one who had everything I wanted in stock.

My order arrived safe and sound and in the forecasted time slot, big thanks to Balliihoo, I can't wait to get the next kit on as soon as I have bottled up the New World Saison that's currently in the FV.

Evil Dog or muntons crafts Belgian ale, decisions decisions !

I ordered a selection of yeasts on Saturday via ebay, but had to use 3 different sellers. All quoted delivery between Weds 25th and Thur 26th, one arrived Tuesday, still waiting on the others.

Noticed this morning that I am running low on bottle caps, got one batch ready for bottling in the next few days and brewing another today. Placed an order for 250 earlier, delivery 7 - 10 days, Just hope they turn up.

I’m due my malt miller delivery today. After I ordered I realised I forgot to order yeast so I’m getting that from an eBay Homebrew shop and should be delivered today or tomorrow.

That means I’ll have 2 brews in the fridge (a Cali Common and English pale), a blonde ale fermenting, a Vienna lager to make tomorrow, an APA to go on after the blonde is carbed and a Czech lager to go on after the Vienna is carbed. I also have about a dozen bottles of cooking lager left over from New Year(Corona and Aldi pilsner so actually half decent stuff although some will disagree about Corona it’s probably my favourite macro brew and the only one I can drink much of without being fed up). I should be sorted for the rest of Armageddon!

Planned for the next three brews and had to split across at least three different suppliers and eBay. (Brut IPA, White IPA, Hibiscus IPA)
Geterbrewd delivery arrived yesterday athumb..
Malt Miller arriving this afternoon athumb..
Brew UK being processed athumb..
eBay - some have arrived, some still waiting athumb..

Unfortunately I do not have all the stuff for each recipe at the moment but have enough to start one and hope the additional (I should have double checked the amount I needed ) Hibiscus arrives next week. Luckily don't need it until fermentation has finished.

Still have lots of mild to drink as I had been brewing for a planned visit to the Brewery Tap by the local CAMRA branch to celebrate Mild in May

I got an email today to say that my order from THBC has been dispatched, placed the order on Monday evening so they are taking about 4 days to get orders out athumb..
