Thought I’d join the party at long last- yay! Also got my next batch of sweet stout on the go.

The weekend has started 🥳

Saison!

They have a few brass castle on in my local from time to time, there a bit hit and miss, this sounds great though but I do know what you mean by having 5L of it.... These style kegs don't usually last past 2 days so get suppin dude 🍻
Worse comes to the worst I’ll transfer it to a stainless steel mini keg, that said with the low APA and pleasant taste 5L in a weekend shouldn’t be an issue. I was tempted by their 8.3% Imperial stout (which basically is a session strength Imperial) but decided that 5L was a bit much.

However I also got a bottle of Thirst Class Ale Red Velvet Barley Wine (9.8%) it’s like liquid cake, issue with it I suppose is that it does not taste like a 9.8% beer I could happily see myself downing a couple of pints of this and not realising until I struggle to stand up.

Oh yes...I've had a less busy day...just picked up a chiller thingy for Mrs Clint's shop this morning, watered the allotment, walked the dogs...then sat in the sun...I may fire up the BBQ soon..
Sounds like a great day Clint 😀

I am starting of tonight with @Pennine farmhouse ale. The details are on his brew thread where he bakes the mash. This is a very interesting style. The beer pours a lovely ruby red with a nice soft white head, carbonation is spot on.
This is a 6.9% abv beer but it doesn't taste like it. It has nice sweat Carmel flavour, the bitterness is well judged.
I have nothing to compare this beer to but from reading online I was expecting a real big malt monster. This is actually very well balanced beer. Well done and thank you for sharing👍

There is something about chip shop chips that I have never being able to get close to at home, need to see if my local has reopened.

As for beer back on the Brass Castle Mint Royale, which takes a strange transformation as it warms with the mint becoming much less prominent and the chocolate coming through. still not sure if I would want it again but definitely will buy if offered in can or bottle.

Sounds similar to my experience with “Sticky Toffee Pudding” beer. The first one started really nice because it actually tasted like STP but by the end of the pint the novelty had really worn off. The unfortunate thing was the guy that bought it for me then bought me another six because I’d liked the first one! Managed to get others to try some but I still have one left.
