Just started stocking a new range in the farm shop so it would be remiss of me not to do some sampling.
For a stout this is very thin, very fizzy and has no head. I was looking forward to trying this and I'm a bit underwhelmed

A bottle of the Christmas Pudding Ale from a good pal on the forum - a very quaffable pint it is, too... but OMG 8.5% (!) I'll need to take this very steady
Dark mahogony brown - in fact, now I come to think of it, Christmas Pudding colour
Dangerously luscious malty-spicy-fruity aromas, with a real kick of the brandy poured over the pudding.

First of the evening, a Pendles Witch clone. Its definitely improved massively in the keg but needs to be a bit warmer. May have to muck around with inkbird probe in the keezer. Very cold outside now so got an oil heater on maximum keeping me warm out in the brewcave whilst I research the next effort!

Alright last one in the strong ales, which is good because I am malted out. I need some hoppy ipas to balance out all the lagers and strong ales. Anyway this is an Adnams Broadside. I like it, has a bit more bitterness and drinks lighter than the others in the list.

Yes, I will be looking for some recommendations when I’m able to pop in
surprised Old Tom fared so badly albeit its a question of personal taste. Seems to be a Fullers multibuy on at Waitrose so have slipped a few of those ones in the old click and collect for Sunday.

Their very, very best is Radieuse, but I haven't seen it for yonks. I wonder if they still make it. Followed the Ruby with Leffe Nectar: absolutely horrendous! It contains "honey flavouring" which tastes more like beeswax candles than honey. And it's cloyingly sweet, beurk! Tip half of it down the sink and followed with a Modello! WTF is it? Not unpleasant, but.
I'm trying to get rid of all the little bottles that good-meaning people have bought me and I wish they hadn't.
Enough.
I've got some Lagunitas "Sumpin' Ale" and I'm going to fluch the system through with it.

It was very alcoholic to me, not quite fusely but not far off. I should try it again though.
Waitrose is great for selection.
Despite not being as good at 3 weeks, it is still nice enough for me to choose it again

I started off on Christmas day with a Shepherd Neame Christmas ale and it was very nice
But then again I really enjoyed the 1698 so it just shows that it's a lot to do with personal choice. Thanks for the reviews 
This one is from a pressure barrel. Not the same (PB=8psi, keg=12psi) but similar by the time you’ve factored in the pressure losses from the keg - pushing beer uphill, through the pipe, and out the tap.

I've only had Old Tom once - camping in a bog in August so any booze was welcome! - but I liked it a lot too. Must also revisit. I liked the Fullers Vintage a lot so will seek out some others on the list too.

I think I liked the Christmas ale so much because it fit my expectation exactly of how I would want a Christmas ale to taste if I was brewing it. Such a good combo of pine and spice without using either.
