My Munich Dunkel ‘Double D’. Kegerator bars on view ✅

Last beer tonight, another Munich Dunkel kindly sent by @YeastFace. It’s a very different beast to mine. Darker in colour and I expect closer to style. Rich malty brown bread aroma with a bit of toffee. The flavour follows with layered toasty malt flavours and chocolatey roast notes. Soft rich mouthfeel and a nice dry finish.
It’s a great beer, thanks for sharing it.
I drank the two in the correct order, my dunkel is much simpler in flavour with a Nobel hop contribution and this is a fantastic big complex malt-fest. Ideally I’d like to have a load of both to swing back and forward between as the mood took me.
Im guessing you’ve got some roasted grains in your recipe and more than one base malt, whereas I essentially brewed a Munich/Saaz SMASH. It’s really interesting to taste them side by side.
There’s a bottle of Double D heading your way, interested to hear how you think they compare. Cheers 🍻

A mate called round for a few impromptu pints and I just had to try my recently kegged hazelnut brown nectar ale. Only kegged it two days ago and gave it a burst carb but this is a lovely beer. A big thank you to @Sorcerers Apprentice for giving me a steer with the hazelnut extract and water profile. This has turned out far better than I had hoped. Used 10ml in approx 18L but might go a little bit more next time. Loving this!

Another day in the garden and because the weather has been so good here today I’ve made good progress. Just as well really, I have beers to brew, beerlines overdue a clean, and then my annual garden maintenance (fence painting, jet washing, oiling the decking, etc.). Anyway, I’m having a black IPA now and will probably stay on this for a while.
