Homebrew is 30p a bottle but I don’t take it to a pub and drink it.
My bottleshop/ micropub Has a great atmosphere and is full of likeminded people whom have an appreciation of good beer and like a chat, and it gives me a couple of hours peace from the grandkids and wife. So I don’t mind the extra cost.
Mind you, based on that mark up, I think I’ll start a bottleshop of my own, mmmmmm!.!?.

Well now you can also enjoy it at home. Although then the wife would have peace from you.

Still on my hols in Devon...popped into a co-op on the way back from the beach earlier and picked up a 12 pack of Brooklyn scorcher IPA...went to the till and it came up as "unknown item"...manager was called and I got it for £8...

Las night I had another glass of the Mr Beer Bewitched amber ale. Wow this is a nice drink. Good head all the way down the glass and a great smooth taste. The only problem is that with the craft kits you only do between 11 and 13 bottles. As you can imagine these go down really fast lol.

Drinking youngs American ipa and festivals pilgrims hope both turned out really good. Prefer the ipa but it's been sitting bout 2 weeks longer so hopefully the pilgrims choice will turn out just as good. Both poured from kegerator using 70/30 gas.

Is my birthday and I was given a few bottles of beer. Tonight I’ve had 71 Brewing Meridian NEIPA and Williams Bros Joker IPA.

In my birthday present beers again tonight. Having a lager night courtesy of my local microbrewery 71 Brewing.

First up is the Dundonian Pilsner, followed by their IPL and Huello Nasty Huell Melon pilsner.

The pilsner is ok, a lot nicer than a generic lager but I’ve had better pilsners. I’d definitely buy it in a pub that didn’t have any craft beer.

I had the IPL in a pub a year or so ago and thought it was bland. I think I must have had a stale bottle because this was really nice. Delicate aroma, marmalade on the tongue and a crisp bitterness.

Huello Nasty I’ve had before. It’s probably the best lager they do although the Huell melon is quite subtle. I much prefer their “experimental” beers to their core range which plays it safe a bit.

I did their brewery tour a couple of weeks ago and they reckon the Dundee tap water has a very similar water profile to Pilsen. I might do a few pseudo lagers in the autumn.

4 litres of Lidl cider to numb the horror of having another chicken die, then burying it in the composter (like internet said) under a ton of poo after cleaning out the coop, then being told she didn't want it there because what if a fox dug it up and what if it got left on the lawn so the kids could see it - soooo, having to scramble around with a torch in the dark (after missing the non-spectacle-of-the-century BLood Mooon because it was pissing down (yay, didn't have to water the allotment)) using a plastic bag as a glove to root around and exhume it - then try to get this splayed out, stiff horror into a carrier bag without trying to look at it because I'd interred it with a big plank and tamped it down, and its typical skeletal arrangement was a bit more... expressionist than usual. Stuffing it in was worse than trying to get 8am ******* (it's an internalised term of endearment, ok) into his school jumper.

And I'm still eyeing up a bottle of chronically cheap rose if this cider doesn't drain the micro-history out.

Just back from ASDA and SWMBO has chosen these for tonight i haven't tried any of them before so a treat in store i hope.

well unlike me I am going to drink irresponsibly and get smashed tonight. 4 cans of abbotts ale then whatever bottles I can find in my stash of leftovers from kegging as my beer well has run dry only lageresque beers in cornies can't believe i've brewed all this lager pish for the ladies and let the beer run dry. Never mind once youtube is on later with all those classic music vids i'll get lost in nostalgia and if yes if I have to succumb to the lager it will mask the taste hic!!

I used to drink Deuchars on cask from a pub near work. I don’t have that job anymore and the pub has gone. I rarely see Deuchars darn sarf now.
