    got round to bottling today , forgot to have a taste but the smell coming from the pb was great. a bit of spice and loads of citris . was a pain geting the hop bag back out the pb. will give it a month before i crack on open

    i leave the caps intact , a bit of cling film over the top with a pin prick in it then place the cap back on dont screw it on just place. iv got a cider and plum wine in a few that have been in the cupboard for 3 months or more(note to self bottle this week)

    You can reuse some of the mini kegs but not sure about the co2 ones . You could use it again but you can't refill or reuse the co2

    I'm on the east coast ish and wind hit last night not as bad as some places, not been out yet to see if there there is any damage . I was expecting the brew shed to be misssing its felt but looks intacked . hope any brewers have not got any more then minor repairs to do , I think fencing...

    my Mrs birthday today so she gets one or the other not both , got her some of the kids hand prints charms cast in silver from them, and I got her some cheap flowers and chocolates(she's on a diet :)). and I got a bottle of relabelled bottle of xb.

    Saniclean is a low foam version of starsan made by the same company . I don't have to worry about it Ny more as the little one will be ayear the week before we go so it's not going to be a problem

    How to you store your FVs when not in use?

    mine live in the shed (damp and cold) after cleaning i leave a few sprays of fresh saniclean in each and make sure the lids are on tight. i always give them a clean and wash out before use anyway

    not every one can is the same, some are good brewferm and brupaks but they are 9-18L kits

    using light dme would work better i think than just sugar giving the it more body and more abv% with out losing flavour

    Best way to transfer from FV to PB

    ok youngs/wilko syphon come with a inline tap, so suck on open tap until your brew gets moving, close tap with brew inline, sanitize tap, open tap into pb job done. :wha:
