Right then,

I've got a hangover and the ingredients to make this lovely stuff.
Recipe from the GW book, lets get cracking.
Will be the BIAB method again so will try getting some more detailed photo's this time.

Cheers!

Thanks chaps,

Mash is on but came in a little high this time at 68 degrees. I overcompensated for last time.
Is this going to be a problem? I've left the boiler uncovered and uninsulated to cool down to 66 hopefully.

I'm done!!!!

Some pics for you all :thumb:

More Than Expected

Really enjoyable day but due to going a little too hot with the mash I held off insulating the boiler for a while. I ended up losing a few degrees which I think might be while the gravity is low. It temp corrects to 1045 which if fermentation goes to plan will give less that 5% abv. Not the expected 5.6% which is an annoyance but hey it's only AG#2 so still a long way to go. I'm sure it'll turn out nice.
No chiller yet so will pitch yeast on the morrow

Just got in from work gave it a blast with a food mixer and pitched yeast.
Let's see what happens

Quick question if I may?

What sort of bag are you using? Thinking of a BIAB myself and getting equipment together.

Thanks

Hi there,

I've had a look at past transactions on ebay and found the item http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0526931917

The person doesn't seem to be selling any at the moment but try contacting them.

The bag is massive and suits the biab method perfectly. Really cheap and easy route into AG brewing.

All the best :thumb:
