We're brewing a west coast IPA tomorrow using Tesco Ashbeck water for the first time.

Do we still need to use a campden tablet or is this now an unnecessary step?

From a water point of view, it's unnecessary as the Ashbeck will have been pasturised, filtered or treated with ozone rather than treated with chlorine to prevent microbial growth.

I'll leave it to the Low Oxygen Brewing aficionados to present a counter argument for using it. That's another kettle of wort.

you do0nt need it. I to used ashbec all the time and only started using a campden tab when i couldn't get it anymore and started to use my tap water.
