At 11% the mash will probably be fine as long as the crush isn't too fine. I'd chuck some husks in anyway, just in case.

Not sure if you will find it now as it was last quarters beer, on to something else now. you might still find a few in the supermarkets, but my local Morrisons had them half price.....not for long. I really enjoy it!

Interesting thread, thanks. I'm guessing the step mash has a step between 50-60C? A starch conversion to gelatinize the rye. I've not tried this beer yet, looks like it'll have some nice orangy notes.

Always something new to learn....

Note..in my recipe I stated mash at 76....not correct! Mash at 66°c...for 1 hour. Brewdog mash out was at 76...
Also..just a query for those who have brewed similar recipes...the dry hop of over 200g....does that sound right? I just took the figures from the original and this is how they worked out..

I'm looking to brew this soon but see maltmiller is no longer listing muntons propino malt...I've emailed to ask if they will be restocking.
Who else has propino? Or is there a suitable alternative?
Apparently propino is used as it is more favourable for hoppy beers and has a very high yield sugar wise.

thehomebrewcompany.co.uk are showing minions propino in stock

Edit: muntons! muntons propino

Reply from maltmiller. ..they're not stocking propino due to the variation in grain size making it difficult to get a consistent crush, this affects efficiency. Advised to use any other pale malt. Which I have. ..

I might try a kviek with this from MM..any suggestions?

never tried Kviek, i understand they are good if you have no temp control though as can work at any temp. i'd maybe stick with US ale thoigh? the recipe is now ion the DIY dog too i think, as thats where i originally saw it, looking to do something with Rye
