Hi,

I'm thinking of having a pop at some of the Youngs Definitive fruity wines range this summer but as I have no idea whether I'll like them (I'm not a much of a wine drinker) I'd like to keep the financial outlay to a minimum to start off with. I have a couple of 25 litre FVs I usually use for beer, can I use these instead of demi-johns?

Cheers

All your gear will be fine but your FVs might be a bit too big. I would replace them with a couple of 5l water bottles from tesco (85p each). The youngs kits come with 5l buckets and don't use airlocks as I think the youngs kits only take 7 days so just leave the lids on the bottles loosely.

Airlocks are cheap enough if you can drill the bottle lid, but other than that I agree with doodles.
