The biggest vessle that i have which fits on my work top is 15 litres and I would like to do some of the bigger kits, so I was wondering if it was possible/ sensible to split between 2 vessles? Or does anyone know of a brew vessle that is big enough to hold a whle kit but will not stand more than about 20 inches tall?

No problems,

Just make sure that you agitate the bag of juice extremely well before dividing up to make sure the grape/syrup/glucose mix is evenly distributed, then Just split the sachets between the two and you will be fine.

Cheers for that - not only saves me the cost of a new vessle but also a marital spat ;)

your main problem is headroom imo. too much headroom = infection and oxidization risk, particularly after fermentation. to solve - if you end up with too much - transfer to smaller vessels (or bottles) or top up after fermentation and racking. :)
