Not a book you can now walk into Waterstones & buy but I've recently aquired this & it's a fascinating read. Comparing old methods & practices with modern ones is quite startling (if not totally unexpected).

Sounds good, I enjoyed the book “historical brewing techniques” but it didn’t have much uk content. I also realised at the end that the author had described everything as being delicious…

Nice. It's on the list of books to aquire. I'm taken by her other title, too. Cheese and bacon oatcakes, breakfast of champions.
