Hi all,

I am wondering if I should add some finings to my Young's AIPA brew to help it clear before I bottle it. Many years ago I used Isinglass in my homebrew kits. Is this still considered a good solution? I see there are many alternatives on the market nowadays, I guess things have moved on over the years.

For kit brewing, patience and good conditioning is as good as any fining, perhaps a bit of a cold crash to get some of the excess yeast out of suspension.

It’s not like AG where you’ll get proteins/hot break/cold break etc in the wort that you might want to give a helping hand to, in kit beer it’s just about dropping the yeast AFAIK.

The Young's will drop clear. Crash it if you can before bottling. Make sure it's finished though...they can take a bit of time to hit fg.
