Hi all, new member here, wanted to ask a quick question.

Im primarily a wine brewer, have been brewing for years but decided to try a beer kit last week. I put it on on friday, its a Geordies Scotish Export kit, Man was that stuff sticky, I didnt expect that at all lol.

My question is, what is the ideal temperature for it to be fermenting at, its been in for 5 days now and is begining to slow down, im planning to measure the specific gravity to determine when to bottle it, but from what I understand, it needs to be bottled for ten days and stored in a cold place to settle is that correct?

Thanks in advance for your help! :thumb:

Hi bandit081 and welcome to the forum
Fermentation temperature for beer is pretty much the same as for wines 18 to 22 C :thumb:

As for bottling, yes 7 to 10 days in the bottle in the warm to allow the priming sugars to ferment and condition the beer, then into the cool for a month or so to allow the beer to clear and mature :)
