My first AG was a clone of SHDRM - it suits my tastebuds - as i'm learning and still not sure where the flavours come from i wanted to experiment with a recipe and reduce the Alcohol to a session beer. Not sure how it will work, but i'm hoping to learn more this way. so this was my attempt Start Saturday 10AM, finish 15.30PM :

Grains
Chocolate Malt 1050 EBC 40 grams 1%
Pale Malt 5 EBC 7 3210 grams 82.3%
Wheat Malt 3.5 EBC 250 grams 6.4%
Crystal Malt, Ex Dark 400 EBC 400 grams 10.3%

Hop
Golding 90 mins 31 g, Challenger 90 mins 25g ,Golding 0 mins 23g

Final Volume: 23 Litres , EXpected OG 1.041
Final Gravity: 1.010 Alcohol Content: 4% ABV
Bitterness: 43 EBU
Colour: 78 EBC
This should achieve a similar bitterness and slightly darker colour.
Grains - mashing and 1st runnings:

My mash temp had dropped to 66.5 after 90mins - so pushing me to consider HERMS

Sparging and adding 90min Hops

Nice pics, looks like a great brewday! :D

OK - now I know I should know this - I even did a search and all I got back was more letters. What is SHDRM?
