primed my grapefruit American pale yesterday and put it in a pressure keg, do I add a co2 valve now or wait till my first pint then add it? Also how quick do you need to drink from first pint in a few weeks

Is it a plastic pressure barrel? If so then you don't need to add co2 now.

Yes it’s the Wilkos one, I lost a batch in it last year but then a mate come round and fixed it for me. Got my money back too as it was bought online. WIN WIN

The co2 canister is simply to keep dispense pressure up. The sugar you prime with will create enough co2 pressure to dispense with initially. I'd pump the co2 in there if you're noticing the keg is starting to glug or if you're leaving the keg half empty for a while. That said, if it's a party and the keg starts to glug but you expect to finish the keg before the evening is out, just unscrew the cap and let gravity do its job.

I only have 9 litres in the keg, I split the brew with a friend but I’m assuming this is still ok.

As for a party I’m not sharing this tropical hoppy delight
