With us stuck in lockdown I have being buying beer from a range of local breweries one option however is poly pins which come in at 36 pint or 18 pint I.e. 10 and 20 L. Problem is that their is no way I can see myself drinking that much before it goes off. I’m therefore curious if anyone has tried transferring one to a corny keg, in theory I would think it would work, add to keg then dispense with CO2 can anyone see any obvious pitfalls that would mean this wouldn’t work?

Can't see any problem, just take care to keep the oxygen out when transferring and give the keg a good purge.

I can see it working am going to try a 2L bottle of fresh beer with a listed short shelf life in a stainless steel mini keg with a co2 regulator and tap to see if it works. It’s a 5.2% vanilla stout so drinkable in a a short time frame but one that I would prefer to drink over 2-3 weeks.
