my first non-kit was intended to be golden colour but even with using light dried malt extract it has came out dark which I am a little disappointed about.

Just kegged 30 pints and bottled the remaining 10 of my first Woodfordes Wherry. That's not as dark as I was expecting and I would say it looks light to amber ;) Smells nice :D

I've got Di and Danny's Golden Ale (http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Di_and_Danny_s_Golden_Ale_Beer_Kit.html) in the FV at the moment, initial colour was fairly dark, but from what I can see when I lift the duvets/ blankets, it is turning a lot lighter. Should be ready to go to the barrel in the next day or so, I'll try and post a pic of it. The bit I like about this kit is the freeze dried hops in with it, the smell of them is fantastic! I'll also post up a full kit review when I get to the drinking stage :drink:

Thanks for that.

Hot off the press...

The Sundew kit has just been signed off by our Head Brewer and has gone into production at Muntons. It's just a case of keeping an eye on our website www.woodfordes.co.uk for when it arrives instock with us.

Like!

BTW, that Di and Danny Golden Ale kit is superb, I had a couple of Essex_Lad's brews when he made it. Selfishly he only gave me two though, so I have had to order my own

Great kit this, have some that's around 4 months old now and it's amazing.

Nearly out so sad times :(

Hahahahaha I would pipe down if I was you mate as who currently has that kit in their spare room ready for next Tuesday's meet up? :)

Brewed Brupak's Linthwaite Light which was a golden colour and tasted excellent , was thinking of trying Coopers Australian Pale Ale with a 1.5k can of Cooper's light malt extract next time ,for something even lighter in colour.

Kit will be out at the end of the month. My dad has just been in the shop to get me a couple of bottles and the lady confirmed :)

There's a homebrew shop close to me in Cheltenham that makes up their own kits called "Foresters", I've just brewed their Golden Citrus Blast kit for the second time and had the first pint yesterday. I can honestly say that this is not only the best tasting homebrew kit I've ever tried, but one of the best pints I've ever tasted. My friends who've tried it seem agree. The kits aren't cheap (£28.99) and you can only get them from the shop (although he's trying to setup online), but they're good - two tins of Coopers Malt, some quality yeast, and two muslin bags of hops that you boil up.

I've brewed most of the usual kits (Woodfordes, Brupaks, Coopers) and this is superior IMHO :thumb: If you're ever in the area, give them a try - right next to the Old Restoration Inn, which just happens to be an historic good real ale pub.

Cheers
Darrell
