Hi I'm.after a thermometer. What would you recommend old fashioned glass one or a fancy digital?
 
some say it's best to avoid glass as if shattered it will ruin the batch. I have mentioned one by MyQuil, also just got one with a remote probe. Handy as you can put probe in as you boil and keep it during chilling: https://amzn.to/2Qoh2HI
Though one thing I learned hard way about these thermometers with a remote probe is that they are not supposed to be immersed into water with the wire. basically probe is fine, but not where it connects to wire. My previous suddenly failed as I was cooling down my batch and now shows 70C at room temperature.
