Dry hopping

The Wilco Cerveza Kit is my "go to" kit for all experimentation because it is so bland that it will carry any additional flavour.

Personally:
  • I think it will enhance the brew to dry-hop it with 25g of hops regardless of the hop flavour.
  • I would make up a Hop Tea and introduce it after fermentation is completed. That way I could split the brew three ways 1) Normal. 2) With 10g Hop Tea. 3) With 15g Hop Tea. and then compare the taste after carbonating and conditioning.
Enjoy.

Hi Dutto, I made a tea last night with 25grams of said Hops but I forgot to strain it doh, ? how long should I leave it before kegging or will bottles be better, thanks for your reply

You joined in a parallel thread on this yesterday.

I said I made up hop teas but chucked the lot in i.e. hops and liquid.
If that's what you have done, thats OK.
I would now leave it alone for 3/4 days and then put your beer in the coldest place you have for another 1/2 days.
If you are fortunate all of the hop bits will settle and won't get a carried over at packaging , but some may get carried over. You can avoid this by using a fine nylon mesh sock over the end of the siphon cane if siphoning is what you carry out.
Kegs/PBs are limited in the pressure they can take, so bottles might be better for this style of beer. Otherwise
they both have their advantages/disadvantages and normally its down to personal choice.
