Just send Rob a note with your order and he will crush them for you. Not everyone wants their grain crushed so you need to let him know.

No stupid questions on here

Yes Rob will crush the grain before sending it out unless you specifically order it uncrushed.

As Good Ed says, he will mill it and send it, unless you specifically ask for it unmilled. I just order it and it always arrived milled :thumb:

Sorry to pull up an old thread but my question leads on a bit from this. I’m just putting on a BIAB Speckled hen clone from malt miller so I ordered the fine crush. However, it just occurred to me, does the finer crush mean I need to alter the mash times or temperature at all?

No.

I order mine uncrushed, but mill it to what might be considered "fine crush" because that 's what works for me. Fine crush can give better extraction efficiency, or it might just set solid into a "stuck mash". You generally get "normal" crush and only try "fine" crush if normal isn't getting what you expect, but for BIAB "fine" crush is usually specified. I'm using what might be considered "fine" with very free draining false bottoms (a Grainfather for one).

It's all arbitrary; after all what is "fine"?
