Hi B

No I have not fitted one of these and am not sure what it would achieve

I am assuming that because you have a tap on your fermenter that the tap is slightly above the bottom, so that the trub stays behind in the vessel

The main thing that achieves clear beer is time, helped by cold crashing. If you don't want to rack this will, of course, tie your fermenter up for weeks

If there is still trub suspended in the beer when you bottle/keg won't this just clog up the mesh?
