cider keg explosion help?

i have put my cider in a keg and left for 5 days like the kit said however when i went to have a little taste i opened the valve and it just exploded out of the tap?? i only added the sugar to the keg like it said??

any reason for this happening and will it die down??

No, it probably won't die down until you have drawn off a few pints. You may have kegged too soon or over-primed, does your keg have a pressure relief valve? If not, just ease the lid and vent a little pressure.

Edit: And move the keg somewhere cooler if you can.

yes it does its a king keg one thats what i thought it should release excess pressure?
