Some are saying Burnham is showboating, i disagree and wish we had someone like him up here doing the same for us.

So is it that we shouldn't bash Tories per se? Or is it all right to take out our pitch forks to this lot? Or do we roll over and accept the new wave of fascism and even put on a brew to welcome it?

Agree with Ankou, but lets stay away from political, as much as hard it is to do. Not sure what would be the best next step. East Sussex very low numbers, but do we just wait till it all get higher? From other side, if we start closing things down, how people will be able to support themselves. Already lots of workers lost their jobs. It doesn't look good from what ever side you look.

South Yorkshire will face the toughest Covid rules from Saturday, the mayor for the Sheffield City Region has said.

Labour Mayor Dan Jarvis said the move to tier three from 00:01 BST followed "extensive discussions" with ministers.

The new restrictions will apply to all four local authority areas in South Yorkshire - Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

It comes as Greater Manchester is to move into tier three from Friday against the wishes of local leaders.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the £60m offered to Greater Manchester to support businesses and workers affected by the new restrictions would be distributed to the region's boroughs. It follows a breakdown in talks with local leaders, who had called for at least £65m.

Under tier three, England's "very high" level of alert, pubs and bars that do not serve substantial meals have to close, and there are further restrictions on households mixing.

Additional rules in South Yorkshire include the closure of betting shops, adult gaming centres, casinos, soft play centres and gym classes - though gyms will remain open.

It comes as a further 26,688 new coronavirus cases were recorded on the Wednesday, while another 191 people were reported to have died within 28 days of a positive test.

I find it really odd that having got the virus what they thought under control one by one countries started to open up again then, bang its on the rise again is it me a coincidence or have they fecked up big time i suspect the latter

It's not a coincidence that when people are mixing more that cases rise. It's just normal transmission of a very contagious virus. It's exactly what you would expect.

Whereabouts in the North do you live that's given you that feeling? I only ask because I live in the (almost) north, work all over the North, and have yet to feel that is a possibility at all. I might feel that if I took my information from the media, but then they have delighted in **** stiring rather than actually reporting since the beginning of the pandemic, to be honest.

I think the way the cities (which voted Labour) are being treated could well could set things off.

My sense of smell has almost been knocked out completely, but the one thing I can smell is ...sewage... and some smells when cooking meat, all those "low" earthy/meaty notes. But only the things that are meant to smell like that.

I can't smell burning (which is a bit of a problem) or fruity top-notes.
