Hi....
I've tried a search on this one but the word "filter"...... well, how long have you got.

I'm wondering if anyone has used any sort of cartridge filter or cleanable element device to remove the live products from beer prior to forced carbonation and bottling.
If so what are your expriences of them and has it been successful.

I do remember something about it on here a few years back but i couldn't put my finger on it. May I ask why you want to devoid your beer of its natural goodness and force carbonate it instead of letting it bottle condition?

i tried once with 2 10" cartridge filters 5mu and 1mu between 2 cornies ....

not very successful, the flows stopped each time requiring an increase in gas pressure to get it going again resulting in about 6l cleaned before the system sprung leaks and sprayed atomised beer all over the place at about 30psi from the gas release valves on the filters..

perhaps my beer was too dirty? some have reported success but also a scrubbing of some flavour from the beer too.
